is he supposed to sleep like this?

no matter what type of positioner we've used, garrett has always managed to get himself twisted off of it. to the point that i've just stopped using them. the only way to keep him totally immobile is to use a swaddler - which can seem to frustrate him. but, really? *this* is comfortable? i mean, i guess his face is saying so, right? ha! in the last 2 weeks, he's also become familiar with his little hands! so now when he sleeps he's constantly looking for them...which makes for some restless sleep until he finds those fingers again (i haven't caught him on camera just yet!) & he won't hold onto his paci, so it's no good either! but...it also leads to some little scratches on his face (which you can kind of see here).

rookie of the year

garrett's getting so pumped that opening day is only a few weeks away...with glavine back at the braves this year, he can hardly contain his excitement!

he's already sporting his baseball attire (a gift from our dear family friends in charlotte, linda & kimberly!)...we tried to tell him 'there's no finger sucking in baseball', but he doesn't listen (go figure)! & check out those cheeks, people! @ garrett's 2 month appointment, he'd gained 3 pounds & grown 2.5" - it's starting to show!

so...quick update from the white house....big plans in the month to come. i return to work this coming monday. i'll do half days for 4 weeks & then back full-time on march 31. we have a wonderful nanny just a few doors down...she'll be loving on G for us each day! march will also include 2 road trips for our little fam...we'll be heading to charlotte & elizabethton to visit our families & allow many of them to meet garrett for the first time!

I just want to wish you a Happy Valentine's Day & say how much I appreciate you following my growth! I hope that wherever you are you'll find love, hugs & kisses from those around you! As you can see my mommy is the one who loves me best of all...as if there was any question?!?! I have to run see the doctor now...perhaps she'll just give me kisses instead of shots - oh well, a baby can dream, right?

garrett's 2 months old today!

where *does* the time go? our little guy continues to light up our lives every day with his smiles, oooohhs & aaahhs, sneezes, nearly laughing, following us around the room with his eyes, responding to our voices...the list goes on!

we had incredible visits from grandmom (beth's mom) & grammy & pop pop (brian's parents) this month. we took garrett to visit mine & brian's offices, made it back to church & garrett saw his first snow! every day is so much fun - especially watching the many ways he changes/grows...we're still in awe that this little guy has been given to us, to be a part of our family.

below are a few shots from the past month - enjoy! the one thing I'll say about the picture at the top...garrett is our little sweet pea & these sweet pea PJs were a gift from grammy & pop pop...one friday afternoon i took that pic & sent it to brian - it was titled "have you seen my daddy?". ha! brian left his office immediately & came home to see his little man...i am shameless!

We met daddy at the office & right away he put Garrett to work. You can see that our G-man did not have much of an impact that day...fell right to sleep!

Every month I take his picture beside this giant monkey - as a way to chronicle Garrett's growth...today I decided Garrett & the monkey should both have some tummy time though!

it's awesome to see your parents with your children. brian & i have both been fortunate to experience incredible relationships with our grandparents & want the same for garrett in his life.

brian's parents were here last week...to hang out with garrett...oh, and see us too! they also got to see brian's new office & meet some of his co-workers...who have already heard a few "funny" stories about them (ie, rabbid skunk attacks small dog; dog owner tries to run skunk over with car & stab with pitch fork!...that's right, you heard it here first, folks!)
